After capturing the 2025 New York State Championship, the Saratoga Central Catholic varsity baseball team entered the 2026 season with high expectations—and the Saints have once again risen to the challenge.
SCC continued its dominance throughout the spring, securing a second consecutive Wasaren League Championship before advancing through sectional play to claim the Class C Section II title.
The Saints punched their ticket back to the state semifinals with an impressive 7-0 victory over Chapel Field Christian School in the regional championship game in Saugerties. Luke Dejnozka '27, Carson Moser '26 (Duke University commit), and Pierce Byrne '26 (Siena University commit) combined to throw a no-hitter, leading the Saints one step closer to another state title run.
Now, Saratoga Central Catholic turns its attention to Binghamton and the NYSPHSAA Final Four. The Saints will face Tuckahoe in the state semifinal at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at Mirabito Stadium.
With a win, SCC will advance to its third state championship game appearance and second consecutive title game, where it would face the winner of Kendall and Ticonderoga at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13.
The entire Saratoga Central Catholic community is cheering on the Saints as they pursue another historic season and a second straight state championship.
Go Saints!
