In an impressive start to the sectional tournament, both the girls and boys varsity basketball teams of Saratoga Central Catholic (SCC) secured victories in the first round last night.
Girls Varsity Basketball Tops Salem
The Lady Saints start out sectionals strong with a big 62-40 win over Salem. With the Saints only leading by 6 at half, they outscored Salem 36-20 in the second half. Sophia Ryan led the charge with 20 points, followed by Addison Whitbeck with 12 and Grace Schaefer contributing 10 points to the victory.

Boys Varsity Basketball Tops Middleburgh
On the boys' side, SCC had a great win, 78-50 over Middleburgh. Tyler Hicks led the Saints with a career-high 27 points, with Ryan Gillis adding 12 points to the team's tally.
