Update from Principal Kondratowicz: April 17, 2020

April 17, 2020

Dear Parents,

In the effort to improve our delivery of distance learning during this extended school closure due to COVID-19, our faculty has met virtually several times over the Easter Vacation. Our goal was to make changes which will increase direct instructional contact between our teachers and students. We also wanted to provide more structure and organization to our instruction. We will be implementing a more specific time schedule for our middle school students. There will also be some changes in our high school program which we believe will enhance the instruction. In making changes we are balancing the need to continue learning progress for our students with the need to keep students and families from being overwhelmed and stressed during this very difficult time.

With the Easter vacation over, distance learning will be resumed on Monday, April 20th. We ask you to have your students consult Schoology for communication from their teachers regarding instruction. Monday and Tuesday the educational structure will continue as it was prior to vacation. We are in the process of finalizing a new schedule for our middle school students. We feel that the added structure of a schedule will help to create a healthy routine for this grade level. We will be making some changes for high school students as well which we think will improve the efficiency of our delivery of instruction. These changes will be communicated to the high school students during the upcoming week. Please help us by encouraging your children to faithfully attend sessions with the teachers and complete the work assigned to them. The faculty will meet to evaluate our instruction and make changes as needed.

In this ever changing environment, I will continue to communicate with you. Please contact us with any questions you have. Enjoy the weekend and stay well!

Sincerely,

Michael Kondratowicz
Interim Principal
