Dear Saratoga Central Catholic School Community,

During these difficult times, I am pleased and honored to be able to share good news with you.

The national search for a principal has yielded a tremendously talented administrator who grew up in the Albany Diocese, has served as an educator across the country, and is returning home to lead Saratoga Catholic Central School going forward.

Please join me in welcoming Joe Kilmade as the new principal of Saratoga Central Catholic School for the 2020-21 school year. Mr. Kilmade is a Capital region native, a product of our system of Catholic schools, and has more than a decade of experience as a teacher and administrator at Catholic schools across several states. Most recently, he served as principal of Ascension Catholic School, a school with more than 300 students in St. Louis, MO.

Mr. Kilmade is a graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in English, and received his master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Notre Dame. He has extensive experience leading retreats and workshops for educators, and served as Regional Coordinator for Catholic Schools in the City of St. Louis.

I want to publicly thank interim principal Michael Kondratowicz for his excellent leadership during this time of transition. We are all grateful to him for his tremendous work that has paved the way for Mr. Kilmade’s future success.

Mr. Kilmade will begin work July 1 to be fully ready to welcome students in September for the start of the new school year, and details about a “meet the principal” event will be provided when that event is scheduled.

We are blessed to have a leader of this caliber join the Saratoga Central Catholic family, and we are grateful he is returning home to share the talents he has honed across the country over the years.

Giovanni Virgiglio, Jr.
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
