  Two SCC students will row in the U15 National Championships in Camden, NJ for SRA (Saratoga Racing Association) on June 2nd-3rd. Saratoga Central Catholic School’s 7th Grade students, Hallie Taunton and Isabella Mimick, will proudly represent the SRA in a 7th grade boat with 3 other girls on their modified crew team.  Only one boat from the modified 7th grade girls team was chosen to compete!

The New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM) collected essays from eighth grade students in New York State to participate in NYCOM’s third annual essay contest addressing the topic, “If I Were Mayor, I Would….” Katie’s essay was chosen for Honorable Mention from over 1100 essay submissions! Some of what she wrote: “If I were Mayor, I would advocate for municipal projects that give citizens of Saratoga more ways to be active. SCC Vocal students compete in NYSSMA

On Friday, May 10th, three SCC students participated in NYSSMA; the New York State School of Music Association solo competition at the Greenwich High School Festival.  This is a professional organization that evaluates student musicians.  Our students performed solo vocal pieces, chosen from the designated NYSSMA repertoire; all pieces were from the highest level of difficulty (Level VI), and a sight reading piece.  The adjudicator scored and commented on each student’s performance according to defined guidelines set by NYSSMA.
