Graduation Requirements

Saratoga Central Catholic High School follows a rigorous curriculum leading to a Regents Diploma or Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation.

To graduate, students must complete a minimum of 24.5 credits, which include:

  • 2 credits in Theology which include:
    • 10 hours of Community service each year, grades 6-8.
    • 20 hours of Community service each year, grades 9-12.
    • Participation in grade-wide service project each year, grades 9-11.
    • Completion of an individual service project, grade 12.
  • 4 credits in English
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in Comprehensive English (11th Grade).
  • 4 credits in Social Studies
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in Global History and Geography (10th Grade) and Regents Examination in United States History and Government (11th Grade).
  • 4 credits in Mathematics
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in Integrated Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 2 and Trigonometry for an Advanced Regents Diploma.
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in either Integrated Algebra, Geometry or Algebra 2/Trigonometry for a Regents Diploma.
  • 4 credits in Science
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in Living Environment for all students.
    • Successful completion of Regents Examination in one or more of the following courses: Earth Science,  Chemistry, Physics for an Advanced Regents Diploma.
  • 3 credits in a Language other than English
    • Successful completion of Two Local Diocesan Examinations in Comprehensive Language other than English.
  • 2 credits in Physical Education
  • 1 credit in Art or Music
  • ½ credit in Health
  • 2 credits in Writing Workshop
