Halloween Dress Down Day
The Saratoga Central Catholic Middle School Community Service Project, "Trick or Treat for Hunger", sponsored a dress down day for Halloween on Wednesday, October 31st. Students were charged $3.00 if they came to school in costume. This dress down day raised over $401.05 which will be used to purchase Price Chopper gift certificates for the local food pantry.
Middle School Happenings
The following is a month by month schedule of Saratoga Central Catholic happenings, just so that you know what’s coming up. For an exact list, as well as precise dates, please see the school website at http://www.saratogacatholic.org/
August:
Schedules get mailed home. Books will get picked up by parent(s) and students. Students may come into school to organize their lockers and meet some of their teachers during the last week of the month.
September:
There is a school wide back to school night, and also a “Welcome Freshmen” dance towards the end of the month. The SCC Parent's Club sponsors a Sunday picnic for the entire school at the Spa State Park. The Father Bondi golf tournament also occurs this month.
October:
Middle school has an evening trip to “Freight Fest” at the “Great Escape”. The middle school has a drama club presentation. This is usually “Dinner and a Show”. The middle school participates in “Trick or Treat for Hunger”.
November:
The major school fundraiser “Hoopla” is held annually this month. The senior class hosts a Thanksgiving luncheon for local developmentally disabled children.
December:
Christmas concert. We collect grocery store gift cards for the needy. There is also a Poinsettia sale.
January:
The sophomores sell hearts for Ronald McDonald House.
February:
The school collects for the Lenten Rice Bowl program. S.C.C. has a “PHONATHON” this month.
March:
The spring high school musical is this month.
April:
The Freshman/Sophomore semi-formal is usually month. The Student Council hosts "Games Day" for the students. Each class wears a different colored t-shirt.
May:
The spring concert is this month. The Junior/Senior prom is this month. The school has a “Treasure Sale” with items donated by families, so prepare to bring in garage sale type items. The Junior class hosts a prom for B.O.C.E.S students.
June:
There is a school wide “Awards Day”. Middle school has a “Field Day” on the last day of classes.
July:
S.C.C. has a craft fair in Congress Park.
