Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week January 31 – February 6 The week will kick off with Mass Church of the Immaculate Conception in Albany Sunday, January 31 at 2:00pm All are welcome! In the spirit of Catholic Schools Week and service to others…we are planning a few things to do over the course of the week! Monday, February 1 Instead of paying for this dress down we are asking students to bring the following items for St. Peter’s Parish and local shelters: 6th Graders – socks! 7th Graders – gloves/mittens! 8th Graders – soap! 9th Graders – deodorant! 10th Graders – toothbrushes and toothpaste! 11th Graders – wash cloths! 12th Graders – hats! Tuesday, February 2 Tours will be given between 9am – 1pm State of the School Address 6:30pm Wednesday, February 3 Time Travel dress down day. Each class has chosen a decade they want to dress like for the day. Special Schedule for Friday 29 January 2016

On Friday 29 January 2016, there will be a special schedule in place at school. ONLY students who are taking the Algebra2/Trig Regents will report to school at 8:10 am. They will be administered the Regents exams and will be able to leave by 11:30 am. NO other students are to come to school that day. Teachers will be taking part in rating the January Regents exams and will be having a professional development session.

Wednesday 13 January 2016 – NO Morning Transportation by Saratoga Springs City School District

On Wednesday, 13 January 2016, the Saratoga Springs City School District will not be providing morning bus transportation due to their schedule. Parents of these students are asked to provide alternate transportation in the morning. There WILL be afternoon transportation provided by the Saratoga Springs City School District.

Spring Driver Education

Spring 2016 DRIVER’S EDUCATION SESSION Registration is open to SCC and Non-SCC students with a valid Driver’s Permit. Pre-Registration and payment is required. JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY

Pope-John-Paul-II-Holy-Doors

Jubilee Year of Mercy Pope Francis opened the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica on December 8, 2015. He states, “I will have the joy of opening the Holy Door on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. On that day, the Holy Door will become a Door of Mercy, through which anyone who enters will experience the love of God who consoles, pardons and instills hope.” This weekend, the Third Sunday of Advent, the Holy Door of the Cathedral in Rome–that is, the Basilica of Saint John Lateran – will be opened. In the following weeks, the Holy Doors of the other Papal Basilicas will be opened. Each diocese* will open a Door of Mercy on December 13, the same day the Pope opens the holy door at the Basilica of St. John Lateran “On that same Sunday, I will announce that in every local Church, at the cathedral – the mother church of the faithful in any particular area – will be opened for the duration of the Holy Year.” While it is simply a door, the symbolism is so rich.
