COLORS FOR A CURE
On October 6, 2014 our Volleyball Program is hosting a fundraiser called Colors for a Cure. The past few years it was called “Pink Day”. The day is two parts.
The first part is our Dress Down Day which will cost $3. (All dress down rules will apply) We are asking the students to pick a color to wear that day. This color will represent a color they wish to support a cure for from the chart below. On this day each year, we acknowledge that cancer is a battle that many people in our community are connected with and is not just the acknowledgement of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This day is meant to give our student the opportunity to show support to a loved one who has survived the battle, is fighting the battle, or has lost the battle. We understand that this might not apply to all students so we encouraged them to support a classmate’s cause. We are also giving an option to the students to write a testimonial explaining why they will be wearing a specific color, it will be posted in the cafeteria, this is optional.
The second part is the Spiking Out Cancer Volleyball matches. Our JV and Varsity Volleyball teams will be playing a match starting at 4:30 for JV and 5:45 for Varsity. During the matches we will sponsor a bake sale and have a 50/50 raffle. We encourage everyone to come and support our Saints Volleyball teams as they host the Mayfield Panthers. It is our 6th Annual match to support the cause. ALL PROCEEDS COLLECTED WILL BE DONATED TO THE MOLLIE WILMOT RADIATION AND ONCOLOGY CENTER; a service of Saratoga Hospital.

In the next few weeks as you come to or drive by the school, you will notice a few changes taking place as part of the Capital Campaign for Saratoga Central Catholic.
- Based on recommendations from the City of Saratoga Springs arborist, the two trees in front of the school have been removed. The trees were diseased and would die within the next few years.
- There will be four new Victorian Street lights installed and 7 new trees and greenery to add curb appeal to the school.
- The city will begin construction and removal of some curbing and sidewalk in front of the school week of July 7th.
- Morris Excavation will be taking out all sidewalks in front of the school and between the school and St. Peter’s Church.
- Tony Barone will be pouring concrete and forming the new sidewalks.
Thank you to all involved in this great project. Stay tuned for pictures as the construction gets underway
